Apple has launched a WWDC placeholder video on YouTube where users can choose to be notified ahead of the live stream.
Just as it has before, Apple has begun its WWDC promotion on YouTube with an upload one week before the keynote, which streams on June 9, 2025. It's a regular YouTube Premiere, which means a holding image is available at the link, and there's also the option to turn on notifications.
The placeholder "a sleek peek at what's to come this WWDC," but the punning title is the event's strapline, rather than a promise of anything actually being shown before the keynote. "Set a reminder, turn on your notifications, and we'll send you an update before the keynote begins," it continues.
Nicely, YouTube's Premiere feature has let Apple specify localized start times of the WWDC keynote. So visiting the page in California will see it showing the event starting at 10 A.M. Pacific, while in the UK it's 6 P.M.
Apple is also pushing more than the opening keynote. Specifically, the description of the keynote stream includes a link to watch the following Platforms State of the Union.
It's been reported that this year's WWDC will be a scaled down, lighter event than previous ones. However, it's also been said that it will launch a major overhaul across the Mac, iPhone, iPad and more.
So whether this is a short or a long WWDC opening keynote, we'll have to see. And Apple is not giving away any clues — the State of the Union is scheduled for three hours after the start of the keynote.

Is it going to be another cringy video, or an actual live keynote? Either way, the announcements will likely be uneventful as they have been for the past few years. More promises and then when the software gets released, another announcement saying all the features they advertised at WWDC will be 'coming soon' and not available (until Spring). This has been their routine for years.
I miss the days when Steve Jobs actually sold you on a new product, and you actually wanted it. Now just a bunch of nobodies at Apple reading spec sheets.

Uh, I don't see any title at all on the page, beyond "WWDC 2025 — June 9 | Apple".
Maybe it used to say "a sleek peek at what's to come this WWDC"?
If so: Is that a "punning" title? What's the pun?
